Announcement: Kathina Pinkama 2017 @ Wat Siribunyamagaram
The three-month seclusion of monks for the raining season ends with the ceremony of giving “Kathina Robes” to the sangha community.
This is an important merit-making event of great social and religious significance for the Buddhist laity.
Similar to most wats (Siamese temples), Wat Siribunyamagaram located along Jalan Raja Dihilir is also hosting Kathina Pinkama.
The following is the programme for this year’s celebration.
7th Oct, 2017 (Sat)
7pm – Paritta chanting
8pm – Dharma talk
8th Oct, 2017 (Sun)
7am – Pindapata
7.30am – Breakfast
9am – Arrival of Kathina main sponsor and sponsors
11am – Tak Bat ceremony
11.30am – Offering food to Sangha (Sangkhadana)
12pm – Lunch for devotees
1.30pm – Offer of Kathina robes and requisites
All are cordially invited to participate in this meritorious ceremony. For non-Muslims only.

I have many things to learn. I don’t know they have such ceremony.
I think this is what my husband been sharing to me, we are planning for a visit 🙂
I wasn’t really aware that this kind of cermony exists. It’s good to see but it’s somewhere familiar with Indian Culture.
