AirAsia Bloggers’ Community Party
Yours truly and some thirty odd travel bloggers from Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines and Thailand, were invited to the inaugural AirAsia Bloggers’ Community Party, exclusively for bloggers in its community. Hosted at AirAsia Academy in LCCT, it was a platform for us to network, plus provided an insight into the workings of an airline company.
Dividing us into groups of six or seven, led by a team leader who is a staff member of the company’s communications department, we visited the various departments within the building, each named after an ASEAN city that AirAsia flies to.
From getting a hands-on feel of the buttons and levers of the Airbus cockpit, taking off and landing, we also found out that it’s not a walk in the garden being an air-steward(ess). Did you know that in the unfortunate event of an air crash, they only have 90 seconds to evacuate all the passengers from the air craft?
At every city, we were required to perform tasks or answer some rather difficult questions, regarding the respective jobs or about our host, AirAsia, and in return, receive stamps on our passport. The team with the most stamps, Team Red, eventually won. Each team member received a free AirAsia ticket to some destination.
Other prizes given away at the awesome party were Queens Park Rangers F.C. football jerseys, AirAsia X tickets and free stays at Tune Hotels. I was not lucky to win any of these prizes, unfortunately….
BUT, at AirAsia’s Party, everyone was a winner. All of us went home with a Ninetology smart phone, the budget-friendly mid-range Pearl Mini. It was generous of the sponsor.
