550-Strong Participation in Colouring Carnival

A colouring carnival was hosted at Ipoh Badminton Stadium in conjunction with the 30th anniversary of Ipoh City Day, attracting a strong participation of 550 children.
This annual programme which began in 2010 has been part of a line-up of activities to celebrate Ipoh City status.

The children were divided into four categories: Category A (10-12 years), Category B (7-9 years), Category C (4-6 years) and Fun Colouring for families.

According to City Council Secretary Encik Mohd Zakuan Zakaria, who was present at the prize-giving ceremony, the Colouring Carnival is a family-oriented way to celebrate Ipoh’s city status, its 30th anniversary this year.
“Besides, colouring is a healthy activity for children which could reveal their hidden talent, as well as creates a bonding opportunity among family members. We hope to raise a generation of creative children in Ipoh,” he added.

Also present at the event were the Council Senior Director for Admin & Finance Puan Saidatul Akma Jamaluddin and Finance Director Encik Mohd Syazlan bin Mohd Isa Suffian, in his capacity as the programme chairperson.

Aside from the colouring competition, participants also took part in a lucky draw, with prizes such as bicycles and skateboards.
It was indeed a fun morning for the children and their parents. Everyone came out a winner.
