26th Edition: Ipoh Car-Free Day
The 26th Ipoh Car-Free Day programme managed to draw some 7,000 Ipohites to Jalan Raja Dihilir on Sunday morning, usually held on the last or second last Sunday of every month, except during the month of Ramadan.
This event, as in the past months, also saw the presence of representatives from various government agencies and those from the private sector.
Ipoh City Council Secretary Tuan Mohd Zakuan Zakaria and City Planning Director Tuan Zulqarnain Mohamad were also present throughout that morning.
Among the activities held this time around were Zumba conducted by PUSPANITA, free health check by staff from KPJ Ipoh Specialist Hospital, BMX bike racing, as well as colouring contest for younger visitors.
Other highlights of the morning included a health campaign by The National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN) and an environmental awareness campaign by Kohijau.
The monthly car-free day programme is expected to make Ipoh a low carbon city, engaging local residents to rest and relax on a Sunday morning.
