2015 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup – Match 7 – New Zealand (5) – Canada (0)
In what was described as a “boring” match to watch, New Zealand categorically demolished Canada, to make it a very possible Oceania finals against Australia.
Canada have by now, played three games and lost all of them, therefore, standing at the bottom of the table with no points.
Coach for Canada, Anthony Farry, was visibly disappointed. He said that his team’s inexperience showed through especially in big matches against top teams, particularly in their failure in execution.
New Zealand’s head coach Colin Batch acknowledged his boys’ scrappy penalty conversion rate. Playing Australia next, it will be a big challenge for the Black Sticks.
Giving full credit to New Zealand, Canada are now looking to finish the tournament in a better position, by adding consistence to their play.
