140th Anniversary Celebration of Paloh Ku Miu
The Ipoh Paloh Tai Pak Kung Ku Miu (God of Prosperity Old Temple in Ipoh) hosted its 140th anniversary dinner on Friday. I was there to get some shots, even though I may not understand everything that transpired as the entire function was conducted in Mandarin. The guest of honour, Y.B. Dato’ Mah Hang Soon, pledged RM5000 to the temple fund. The temple committee in turn made cash donations to a handful of schools and senior citizens’ homes.
As it was the 140th anniversary of the temple, possibly the oldest in Perak, Malaysia, there was a simple cake-cutting ceremony and the toasting of wine. Happy Anniversary, Paloh Ku Miu!
