13th Ho Fah See Bowling Tournament: A Celebration of Community, Sport, and Legacy
The 13th Ho Fah See Bowling Tournament unfolded with remarkable warmth and enthusiasm, bringing together members of the Perak Hakka Community Association for a morning filled with laughter, friendly rivalry, and genuine camaraderie.

Held at Ampang Superbowl in Ipoh Parade, the venue buzzed with a festive mood long before the first ball rolled down the lane.

Organised by the Youth Division under the leadership of President Ms Chee Shwu Fen, the tournament once again demonstrated the committee’s dedication to creating meaningful, well-run activities that keep the community connected.

Encouraging a Healthy Lifestyle
With 16 teams, each made up of three spirited bowlers, the lanes quickly came alive with cheers, playful teasing, and plenty of high-fives. While the competition brought out the best in everyone, the true essence of the tournament lay in its purpose: to encourage members to stay active and to foster strong connections among Hakka communities across Perak.

For many participants, this annual gathering is not just about scoring strikes or winning prizes. It is a chance to reconnect with familiar faces, welcome new members, and enjoy a sport that has become a highlight of the association’s calendar.
The Legacy of Mr Ho Fah See
The 13th Ho Fah See Bowling Tournament continues through the steadfast support of its main sponsor, Mr Ho Kat Ann, who dedicates his sponsorship in memory of his late father, Mr Ho Fah See, an avid bowler and sports enthusiast.
This year’s tournament held particular emotional significance as it took place a day after the 14th anniversary of his father’s passing on 6th December. In honour of this memorable date, Mr Ho made an extraordinary gesture by tripling his sponsorship compared to the previous edition.

The attractive prizes, which recognised teamwork and individual excellence, further fuelled the competitive spirit of participants.
Group Category:
* Champion – RM500 + trophy
* First runner-up – RM400 + trophy
* Second runner-up – RM300 + trophy
Individual (Male & Female):
* First place – RM250
* Second place – RM200
* Third place – RM150
Adding a fresh twist to this year’s tournament were the special high-score incentives:
* Male bowlers scoring 200 points in a single game stood a chance to win RM1,000.
* Female bowlers reaching 180 points in a game could also claim RM1,000.
With two games per participant, the pressure and excitement spiked. Every frame became an opportunity, and every strike drew delighted cheers from teammates and spectators alike. These incentives pushed bowlers to stretch their abilities while keeping the atmosphere lively and enjoyable.
Although no bowler successfully hit the high-score targets to claim the RM1,000 bonus prize, the spirit of the challenge remained strong. In a generous gesture, the organiser decided to reward the top-scoring male and female bowlers with RM300 each, ensuring their impressive efforts were still recognised and celebrated.

Lunch at TS VIP Restaurant
After the final frames were played and the lanes grew quiet, the entire group made their way to TS VIP Restaurant for a sumptuous lunch and the official prize presentation ceremony. The luncheon added a meaningful finishing touch, a reminder that the tournament was as much about fellowship as it was about competition.

Mr Ho shared his aspiration to further increase his sponsorship next year. His long-term goal is to develop the tournament into a charity-driven event, using sport as a platform to support the wider community.
This commitment not only honours his father’s legacy but also reflects the values that underpin the Perak Hakka Community Association: generosity, unity, and collective upliftment.
