The Persatuan Keturunan Kwong Siew Perak (2024) has made a remarkable return, celebrating its official re-registration with a 1st-anniversary fundraising dinner.
Held on 1st March 2025 at Super HLT Restaurant in Ipoh, the event gathered esteemed guests, community leaders, and supporters not only from Perak but also from across Malaysia and beyond, reaching as far north as Thailand and as far south as Singapore.
Needless to say, the evening was filled with camaraderie, cultural pride, and renewed aspirations.
The Dawn of a New Chapter
With the theme “霹雳广肇会馆3大机构 ‘再创辉煌’”, the event symbolised a fresh start for this association.
After about eight years of being deregistered by The Registry of Societies of Malaysia (ROS), this event was a stepping stone towards revitalising its role within the Kwong Siew community.
The strong turnout and overwhelming support underscored the shared commitment to preserving traditions, and strengthening the association’s presence.
Distinguished Guests and Community Leaders
The fundraising dinner welcomed a distinguished lineup of guests, including Honourary Life President Mr. Ho Sai Chong, key advisers such as Choong Chok Tin (AMP) and Lim Sook Hwa (PKT), alongside representatives from Kwong Siew associations across Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand.
Their presence demonstrated the far-reaching impact and unity of the Kwong Siew community beyond Perak.
An Evening of Celebration and Culture
The programme commenced with a warm reception, followed by ceremonial ribbon-cutting and symbolic cannon salute. The association’s women’s group delivered a captivating performance, “Kwong Siew Flying Hand-in-Hand,” adding a cultural touch to the evening’s proceedings.
Additionally, the guests were treated to an enchanting musical performance by renowned songstress Huang Mei Jun, whose soulful voice added to the festive atmosphere.
Honorary members also took to the stage to share their heartfelt speeches, reinforcing the importance of unity and collective progress within the association.
