Two Sisters, a James Lee Psychological Horror Film, Opens in Cinemas on April 18
Following a woman’s release from a psychiatric hospital, she is reunited with her sister. Together, they return to their abandoned family home. However, the two sisters harbour a dark and tragic family secret, which begins to unfold upon their return….
One of the most watchable of all James Lee movies, Two Sisters is a horror-thriller set in a house. This is a made-for-film-festival-movie with all the essential elements: pretty girl, strong plot with multiple twists, great art direction, etc., and a slow pace for the story to unwind.
Starring Miss Chinese International 2005 Emily Lim Pey Chi (林佩琦) and model-producer Lim Mei Fen (林美芬), this feature-length film is the first for Kuman Pictures, founded in 2018 by Amir Muhammad, one of Malaysia’s pioneer short film directors.
The name “Kuman” pays tribute to American director-producer-actor Roger Corman, who have produced more than 400 films, thus gaining the accolade, King of B-movies.
Two Sisters has been accepted for international premiere at the UDINE Far East Film Festival in Italy (26th April until 4th May). Two other Malaysian films selected are “Fly by Night” and “Motif”.
A 87-minute Chinese-language film (with English, Malay and Mandarin subtitles), “Two Sisters” opens in 25 cinemas nationwide on 18th April, 2019. If you are a fan of the works of Ipoh-born writer/director James Lee (李添興), watch Two Sisters. You won’t be disappointed.
Even before its official release, the film has already received wide recognition: Best Original Score (Nick Davis) at the 30th Malaysian Film Festival (FFM30) last month. It was also nominated for Best Actress (Emily Lim Pey Chi) and Best Poster (Foong Teck Hee).
