The Real Fat Man Curry Noodles

It was quite a while since my family and I ate at Restoran & Kafe New Weng Fatt in Ipoh Garden South. This coffee shop has been rather elusive, though. To be honest, the few times that we dined in the area over the past few months, our first option New Weng Fatt, was closed each time.

From patronising a good number of eateries when movement restrictions were lifted since the country was put under a national lockdown known as Movement Control Order (MCO) in a bid to halt the spread of COVID-19 on 18th March, 2020, we could see that not many small businesses were able to economically survive the effects of this episode.

Restoran & Kafe New Weng Fatt is no different as the number of stalls is vastly reduced. Yet, this coffee shop remains popular – mainly thanks to its original fei low (fat man) curry noodles, beef noodles and Gopeng noodles, among others.

Here are photos of our recent lunch, when we finally caught hold of them. Yes, curry noodles from the fei low (fat man) is a must, as we continue our search for the best in town.
