The Terengganu Trade Centre, which is sharing space at the Planetarium in Kuala Terengganu, reminded me of those “Karnival Usahawan” in Greentown Mall on the occasional weekends, except that this trade fair is more permanent.

The objective of Terengganu Trade Centre is to encourage the entrepreneurship spirit, with the motto, “One District, One Industry”. At TTC, there were booths from neighbouring states as well, which is good as they provided a better variety of goods for shoppers.

Everything sold at TTC is synonymous with the East Coast, from popular batik to songket and souvenirs. And of course, this is where you could get your hands on all sorts of local delicacies, not forgetting, arts and crafts.

I understand that TTC, or also known in Malay as “Pusat Dagangan Terengganu”, is like a convention centre, where space is rented out for expositions and trade fairs.

I think that Yayasan Pembangunan Usahawan Terengganu (YPU), a government agency given the mandate to manage TTC, is doing an excellent job in unearthing entrepreneurs in the state. Sometimes, all an entreprenuer needs is a commercial platform for a breakthrough in business.
