Sakya Maha Karuna Dharma Centre Charity Food Fair
This charity food fair, which was organised by Sakya Maha Karuna Dharma Centre and supported by Tashi Delek Collection (Ipoh), was to raise funds for Pal Ewam Namgyal Monastic School.
This school in Nepal was established in July 2005 by the Venerable Khenpo Tsewang Rigzin, on a very special day of “Lord Buddha’s First Teaching Day” for the sentient beings after He enlightened from six years of long meditation.
Although it was only opened to non-Muslims, it still attracted a lot of sponsors, and shoppers who were already at the door way before the fair began.
Most of the booths offered food and drinks, but there were plenty of vegetables, flowers, holy pendants and beads, exercise equipment and even high heels. Just whatever well-wishers could sponsor.
Devotees who visited the fair also took the opportunity to receive blessings from Ven. Khenpo Tsewang Rigzin.
