Putrajaya Shangri-La, Malaysia
Putrajaya Shangri-La is said to be a “boutique hotel”, though it doesn’t fit the definition of “boutique hotel” as stipulated by the Ministry of Tourism, Malaysia. In fact, it is a five-star rated hotel, and certainly doesn’t look like one. However, it is a retreat within a garden sanctuary atop a hill.
The hotel has four floors only, with a total of 118 rooms, most of them deluxe rooms, and suites (executive, premier and presidential). The difference between the deluxe rooms is the views. They come with park, hill or fountain court view.
Even though the hotel itself doesn’t look 5-star, services here are top-notch. Complimentaries include in-room WiFi and broadband internet access, local calls to fixed line numbers and also evening drinks served at the Lobby Lounge (or poolside on weekends) between 6pm to 7pm daily.
