Located at Padang Ragut Sadang, PROSPEK Rusa Lenggong is a unique venture that encompasses deer breeding, farming, plus agrotourism activities. Accessible by a scenic boat ride from Pipit Riverside Jetty followed by a 4-wheel drive journey, this 180-acre expanse of land includes water bodies that traces its roots back to cattle breeding in the 1980s.

Deer breeding and commercial ventures
With approximately 250 Java timorensis deer, PROSPEK focuses on commercial venison production. The deer, typically slaughtered at 15-18 months of age, are prized for their optimal weight and low-fat content. Maintaining a breeding herd ratio of 1 mature male stag to 9 female hinds ensures successful mating during the breeding season.

Market dynamics
Priced at RM70 per kg carcass and RM90 per kg meat, the demand for venison in Lenggong surpasses the available supply. Notably, during the recent Aidilfitri season, fifteen deer were slaughtered, generating sales revenue of RM25,000. To further showcase their offerings, venison will be available at a special price during the upcoming Perak Agrotourism Carnival 2024 (PAC 2024).
