A Celebration of Diverse Flavours at Wau Wau Ipoh
Behind the vibrant façade of Wau Wau Ipoh Restaurant, located directly opposite the new SSM (Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia) building in Sungai Senam Ipoh, lies an equally colourful backstory.

During the COVID-19 Movement Control Order (MCO) back in 2020, two resourceful partners began selling frozen pau online on Shopee. Their successful eCommerce venture not only pulled them through difficult economic times but also fuelled bigger dreams for the entrepreneurs to expand their business once the MCO restrictions were lifted.

Thus, this full-fledged Halal-certified Wau Wau Ipoh was born in October 2023, with the inclusion of a new partner.
Offering a fusion Asian menu that includes Malay, Chinese, Western, dim sum, pastry, and other local delights, Wau Wau Ipoh has certainly captured the attention of foodies with a celebration of Malaysia’s rich diversity of flavours and culinary traditions.

Using the ‘Wau’ as the restaurant’s theme, the kite which symbolises good harvest among the indigenous communities of Malaysia, the Wau Wau brand is synonymous with a commitment to providing a delightful culinary experience for diners, with the hope to soar higher in the future, like the Wau kite.

Incorporating its objective to provide a harmonious blend of traditional, plus modern dishes, showcasing the best offerings from various ethnicities, Wau Wau Ipoh shines with its premium-quality ingredients. You will notice that only Basmati rice and Omega-3 eggs are used to bring out the fragrance and flavours of the recipes. Besides significantly enhancing the food quality, every dish brings an added nutritional value that appeals to health-conscious diners.
With a kitchen team headed by an experienced chef who has served in large-volume food production that incorporates stringent quality control measures and innovative culinary techniques, Wau Wau Ipoh checks all the right boxes when it comes to taste, quality, and the overall dining experience.

According to a partner of Wau Wau, “Our chef plays a pivotal role in menu development, drawing upon his culinary expertise and creativity to craft dishes that reflect our fusion concept and meet the preferences of our diners.

“Whether it is sourcing the finest ingredients, experimenting with flavour combinations, or refining cooking techniques, our chef’s dedication to excellence is evident in every dish we serve.
“By working closely with our chef, we are able to adapt to changing culinary trends, respond to customer feedback, and continuously elevate the dining experience at Wau Wau.”

Wau Wau has plans to expand its restaurant beyond Ipoh. Currently, besides its outlet at Basco Avenue, Wau Wau is available on major delivery platforms: GrabFood, FoodPanda, and ShopeeFood.
In addition to dine-in and delivery, Wau Wau offers catering and event space rental.
