Pewter Casting @ East Art Enterprise

Pewter products make classy gifts but have you given it a thought how pewter products are really made? Our curiosity was quenched after visiting the factory of East Art Enterprise, where we got to see the entire process, from casting to soldering to plating.

Established in June, 2004, East Art Enterprise operates out of a factory in Rawang, Selangor. Looking at its humble setting, you wouldn’t realise that pewter products from here are retailed at Harrods department store in London. This is certainly a huge achievement for the company.

It’s not surprising though, as pewter ware from this enterprise are stunningly elegant, as you can see from the photos I enclosed. Other pewter products by the company are traditional and contemporary fashion accessories, home decorative items, gifts and souvenirs.

Plated in white gold, gold, antique gold, silver, antique silver, or bronze, just to name a few “colours”, pewter merchandise from East Art Enterprise are much sought after locally and internationally. In fact, the company has received recognition from Kraftangan Malaysia, winning the Best Craft Product Award.

The process of making pewter ware does seem tedious, but it only takes about five minutes to make a brooch, and get it ready for plating. Maybe because these craftsmen are pewter casting specialists already!
