Paloh Street Food Paradise – Ipoh’s Latest Street Food Fare Destination
The wet weather did not deter scores of people from participating in the Octagon Mid-Autumn Celebration last night. Co-organised by the Perak Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCCI), owners of Wisma Octagon, and the Ipoh City Council, leading the list of guests-of-honour were the Minister of Local Government Development (KPKT) YB Nga Kor Ming, Deputy Speaker Perak State Legislative Assembly YB Jenny Choy and Ipoh City Mayor Y.Bhg. Dato’ Rumaizi bin Baharin@Md Daud.
In conjunction with the celebration of Mid-Autumn Festival which falls on 29th September this year (or 15th day of the 8th month of the Chinese calendar annually), PCCCI launched the Paloh Street Food Paradise, to establish a new street food destination in Ipoh City at Gerbang Perniagaan Paloh, on the side and back of Wisma Octagon. Gerbang Perniagaan Paloh along with its Paloh Street Food Paradise complements Gerbang Malam and Little India.
For 2023, Ipoh is one of the Top 3 domestic destinations in Malaysia. Sharing the good news was YB Nga, who also promised to propose to the Perak Menteri Besar to include Octagon Mid-Autumn Celebration on the Visit Perak Year 2024 Calendar of Events.
“Ipoh is one of the local authorities allocated the highest funds under my portfolio. For all the 15 local authorities in Perak, the total allocation is RM68 million. In addition, the Perak Housing and Real Estate Board has received the highest funds in its history, at RM8.75 million.
