Nomination Open for 10th JCI Creative Young Entrepreneur Award

Junior Chamber International (JCI) PJ is calling for nomination of young Malaysian entrepreneurs for the 10th JCI Creative Young Entrepreneur Award (CYEA). This prestigious annual award by JCI Malaysia is hosted by JCI Petaling Jaya on behalf of JCI Malaysia.

Launched in 2005 worldwide by JCI as a yearly event, the award is to recognise and honour exceptionally creative young entrepreneurs in their success. JCI CYEA also aims to foster entrepreneurial spirit among youth and encourage creativity and innovation.

JCI CYEA is a platform for entrepreneurs between 18 to 40 years old, as long as they are business owners or managers who are primarily responsible for the start-up of a new business and or implemented creative measure or method that result in positive outcomes in their business operation.

Nomination has been opened since 1st February and will end on 31st May, 2016. The nominations must be submitted using the online nomination form via www.jcicyea.com.my. Registration is free-of-charge but nominees have to pay RM500 processing fee.

The Top 3 winners will be announced this September at the 2016 JCI CYEA Grand Award Ceremony. One lucky winner will then be selected to represent Malaysia as Panel Speaker at the Commonwealth Asia Alliance of Young Entrepreneurs (CAAYE) summit.

This year, the JCI CYEA 2016 team has also engaged two other Malaysian non-governmental organisations PUMM (Persatuan Usahawan Maju Malaysia or Malaysia Entrepreneurs’ Development Association) and YMM (Young Malaysians Movement) as their Supporting Partners.

JCI CYEA offers young entrepreneurs the gateway to international markets. Winners have the chance to mingle and exchange ideas with entrepreneurs from overseas, international companies and governments to further explore business opportunities across industries and countries. This award is not only a platform for young entrepreneurs to grow and elevate their career but will also benefit the organisation as well as upgrade the reputation of industry and country as a whole.

At a press conference co-organised by the Junior Chamber International Ipoh at Andaman Ipoh Sales Gallery, whereby Managing Director of Andaman Property Management Sdn. Bhd. Dato’ Sri Dr. Vincent Tiew is the Ambassador of JCI Creative Young Entrepreneur Award 2016, Tiew urged, “Malaysian businesses have to be more creative in managing their business operations in view of the current economic situation. Young entrepreneurs should take part in JCI CYEA to benefit from the network and international exposure that it provides.”

The three winners of JCI CYEA 2015 were Dato’ Sri Dr Vincent Tiew, Mr Mahair Goh (Founder & CEO of Global Art & Creative Sdn Bhd) and Mr Steve Low (CEO of Tandop Hotel Sdn Bhd). Dato’ Sri Dr Vincent Tiew was selected by the CAAYE Board of Directors to be a speaker at 2015 CAAYE Summit in Putrajaya, Malaysia.
