MITM Travel Fair 2012 @ Ipoh

Quite a number of people in Ipoh were confused that there were two travel fairs held at the same time. Well, they basically offered the same travel packages, except that they were organised by different associations.

I went to both travel fairs and can say that MITM Travel Fair offered a lot more choices to visitors compared to MATTA Fair and a vast improvement from last year’s MITM fair which was held at Glamour Square, Bercham.

While players in the industry are normally the same ones year in and out, at MITM Travel Fair, I was glad to spot two new players – Tourism Authority of Thailand and Owang Travels that specialise travel packages to Bhutan.

Travel agents are now also promoting cheap travel packages to Legoland, in Johor, which will officially open on 15th Sept, 2012. Cruises are becoming more popular now. There was one Buy 1, Free 1 cruise package as well.

It is interesting to see travel agents competing against one another, offering better and cheaper travel packages. At the end of the day, consumers win. Cheap travel is what most of us want!
