Meet The Pros Season 7
“Meet The Pros”, an educational programme for photographers which is endorsed by Master Photographers Association (MPA) UK, finally arrived in Ipoh for the benefit of local professional photographers and those aspiring to be one.
This photography master class, into its seventh season, was arranged by Master Photographers Association (MPA) Malaysia. The organising chairperson was Jensom Ng of MyDream Artists. The “Meet The Pros” series of photography master classes were previously held in major cities such as Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Bahru and Malacca.
Whilst all the previous editions of Meet The Pros were free-of-charge, this Season 7 had a nominal fee to it, and yet, it attracted the largest number of participants thus far. Total fees collected amounting to RM10,000 were handed over to Sekolah Semangat Maju Ipoh (RM6,040) and Era Technology Communication Art & Design School (RM3,960).
Sekolah Semangat Maju Ipoh, a school for the intellectually challenged, was selected as beneficiary as they are in desperate need of financial assistance. With more than 150 students under their care, some of whom are already into their 50s, the school is planning to build a dormitory to provide a safe home environment to them. It was also discovered that the teachers are grossly underpaid.
In Season 7, Jensom Ng, a Certified Master Photographer who specialises in portrait photography spoke on soul portraiture. The other speakers, all Certified Master Photographers, were Mike Tan on overseas pre-weddings, Anthony M. Barlan on creative photography, Kamalesan K. on Indian weddings and Jackal Cheng on Chinese weddings.
They were joined by MPA Malaysia Ambassador Patrick Low, who is also the world’s first MPA certified Master Photographer in 3D photography. Wedding photographer Victor Tong had to withdraw from his speaking engagement as he was unfortunately down with dengue.
Where and when will the next “Meet The Pros” be? Stay tuned for further information.
