Media Launch of Neffos X Series
I have to admit that before receiving an invitation to the media launch of the Neffos X Series smartphones, I have never heard of this mobile brand before. As you can tell, I am no technology junkie and having found satisfaction with my current smartphone, I haven’t been looking in the past two years or so.
However, as I was already in the capital city on the day of the event, I thought it would be a great idea to slot it into my schedule. And I am glad that I did as it proved to be a delightful experience on the momentous occasion.
If you do not know yet, Neffos is a fairly new player in the smartphone market, having only been established in 2015. However, its parent company, TP-Link, is definitely a household name, being a reliable wireless networking devices and accessories maker for the past 20 years. Who hasn’t heard of TP-Link before, right?
Being a strong brand in wireless networking, TP-Link have extended their products by going beyond offering networking solutions, hence their Neffos smartphones, which are aimed at bringing people closer together, via seamless connectivity. Communication has always been the fundamental idea of TP-Link and Neffos is an extension of that.
Being an Android user myself, I was impressed to learn that the Neffos X Series offers some 3,000 improvements on Android Marshmallow 6.0. I haven’t got the opportunity to really test for myself the tweaks made on the mobile operating system but its smart technology, combined with its sleek and stylish design had made the Neffos X1 and Neffos X1 Max the darlings of IFA 2016 in Berlin, Germany.
With the Neffos X Series now introduced in the Malaysian market, what can consumers look forward to? For one, the Neffos X Series boasts a top-notch camera, coupled with an unlocking time of only 0.2 seconds, you’ll be able to capture precious moments literally in the blink of an eye.
Having had the opportunity to play with the two models during the launch event, I was suitably impressed with their performance. I won’t be going into too much technical details on them because I know that you’d rather read up on them from technology blogs. However, I’ll let you in on the pricing:
Neffos X1
RM769 (2GB RAM + 16GB ROM)
RM849 (3GB RAM + 32GB ROM)
Neffos X1 Max
RM999 (3GB RAM + 32GB ROM)
RM1199 (4GB RAM + 64GB ROM)
The 5-inch 720p screen Neffos X1 (2GB RAM + 16GB ROM) is already available in Malaysia and can be purchased from authorised retailers. The first fifty buyers from Lazada Malaysia will also receive a bundle of free accessories, making the Neffos X1 a steal.
Meanwhile, the more advanced 5.5in full HD Neffos X1 Max, which I am eyeing, will only hit local stores in March 2017.
Both specifications come in Cloudy Grey and Sunrise Gold, and I can tell you, with such price points, these budget-friendly smartphones will surely take the Malaysian mobile market by storm this year.
