MBI Prihatin Reaches Out to The Poor

Discovered by Councillor Dr Richard Ng yesterday is 70-year-old Yip, who lives by the banks of Sungai Pinji in Taman Pakatan Jaya. Today, despite the heavy downpour, Ipoh City Mayor YBhg. Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin visited Yip to further extend aid, including cash and the pledge to purchase a new tricycle, to enable him to continue earning a living by selling fruits.

Yip’s source of livelihood stopped with his tricycle broken down, coupled with the Movement Control Order (MCO). The Ipoh City Council (Majlis Bandaraya Ipoh – MBI) will also assist Yip in obtaining a temporary hawker licence.

At the same time, Econsave Hypermarket donated food essentials to Yip as an emergency measure, to be followed up with two cartons of mineral water.
