Shooting of KaKaKaPo in Ipoh, Malaysia
With expenditure standing at RM1.5 million already, the cast and crew of KaKaKaPo (Kavita Kannadasan Kadalakiporange) eventually arrived in Perak for the final leg of the shooting of this romance-comedy (romcom) Kollywood movie.
Produced by DNS Movie Production Pte. Ltd. with their local partner, DNS Movie Production Sdn. Bhd., this first movie production of the company has a strong Indian cast and crew, including Singampuli and Sakshi Agarwal.
However, one of the leads is played by Keshav, a 24-year-old chap from Teluk Intan, who is acting in his first movie. It is certainly a huge breakthrough for him, now a full-time actor!
Scheduled to be in local cinemas as early as June, producer Dr. Sanggaralingam was visibly excited to talk about his debut production.
He said, “First of all, I would like to express my utmost appreciation to Tourism Perak, especially YB Dato’ Nolee Ashilin Mohd. Radzi (Perak State Exco for Health, Tourism and Culture) for supporting my endeavours. I believe that many production companies are interested to shoot their movies in Perak, and with this level of support, I surely am bringing my second movie here, this time, a Malay production but also with a romance-comedy theme.”
The cast and crew, who arrived in Ipoh and began filming on 8th of May, will be in Perak until the 12th. Besides a scene at the Sri Mariamman Temple in Buntong, where these photos were taken, they also were on location in Bercham and The Lost World of Tambun. Thereafter, they will proceed to Lumut.
