K-Street Carnival @ Ipoh Parade Mall
Annyeong Haseyo! If you have visited South Korea before and miss the country, or if you have yet to but would like to get a taste of Korean food, art and culture, now is the best time to drop by Ipoh Parade and be exposed to Korean culture plus the various weekend activities that have been lined up.
A Korean-themed event, K-Street Carnival, kicked off on the ground floor of Ipoh Parade on 4th May and is on going until 14th May, 2017. This is the mall’s very first Korean carnival, riding on the Korean wave that has swept so many Malaysians, including yours truly.
From K-Pop, Korean street fashion, scrumptious Korean delights and many more, shoppers and visitors to Ipoh Parade have the opportunity to experience all things Korean, under one roof at Ipoh Parade.
The weekend programme is as follows:
6th May (Saturday)
12pm – 8pm Korean theme Children Arts & Crafts
12pm – Korean Spicy Noodle Challenge
2pm – Kimchi Fried Rice Cooking Demo
3pm – SUB Korean Make-up Workshop
4pm – Korean Spicy Noodle Challenge
7th May (Sunday)
12pm – 8pm Korean theme Children Arts & Crafts
12pm – Korean Spicy Noodle Challenge
2pm – Tapokki Rice Cake Cooking Demo
4pm – Korean Spicy Noodle Challenge
13th May (Saturday)
12pm – 8pm Korean theme Children Arts & Crafts
12pm – Korean Spicy Noodle Challenge
1pm – Gimbap Cooking Demo
2pm – K-Pop Performance by Isodope Dance Crew
2.15pm – K-Pop Children & Family Dance Along
3pm – SUB Korean Make-up Workshop
4pm – Korean Spicy Noodle Challenge
14th May (Sunday)
12pm – 8pm Korean theme Children Arts & Crafts
1pm – Kimchi Cooking Demo
2pm – K-Pop Dance Cover Competition
As you get entertained by the above stage activities, don’t forget to check out the K-Street Bazaar, where you are able to shop to your heart’s content.
Get a preview of Shin Sun Mi Korean Market, opening at Ipoh Parade this July. Shin Sun Mi is known for its authentic Korean products at reasonable prices. Finally, Ipoh folk now have access to a more varied range of Korean goods without busting their budget.
Other vendors at K-Street Bazaar include leading Korean concept store, Kioda, Korean-themed apparel, as well as Oscar Digital Studio, a bridal house that specialises in Korean-inspired weddings.
I have missed one week of K-Street Carnival due to the just concluded Sultan Azlan Shah Cup, so I’ll make sure not to miss more of the activities at Ipoh Parade during K-Street Carnival.
One of the most interesting events (to me) is the K-Pop Dance Cover Competition, which takes place on 14th May, from 2pm.
K-Pop Dance Cover Competition is where participants are required to perform a K-Pop dance routine to the music of one K-Pop group, exactly like how it is performed in the song’s music video.
There are already 22 groups signed up for the competition at this moment. With RM9,000 in cash and prizes to be won by the top three teams, I anticipate that it will be keenly contested. Thus, I don’t want to miss the action!
Oh yes, would you like to win a prize by participating in the Pose, Snap & Win contest? How about redeeming a Parents Day Bowl & Spoon Set? For updates and events at Ipoh Parade, Like and Follow their official Facebook Page.

I also enjoyed a lot shopping at this kind of festival. Because it saves me time on looking for my favorite Korean products. They gather together for an event and makes it convenient to shoppers and fans 🙂
Hi Emily! It’s a happy thought that Korean pop culture is making waves in Malaysia, too. I’m a fan of popular K-Dramas and of course, their products are always topnotch (food, makeup). You must have had a great time at the bazaar! 🙂
I love korean food, especially their maggie. Wish I could grab some cause I always stock up during their fairs.
I missed this mall so much, so near my place when I was staying there. Shall let Ipoh friends know this!
