Tourism Selangor collaborated with world renowned camera and imaging products company, Nikon Malaysia by hosting 20 students aged between 9 to 12 years old, in its Corporate Social and Responsible (CSR) programme, Junior Eco Troupes 2.0: #DiscoverSelangor Nature Photography Workshop.

It was held on 23rd and 24th September, 2017 at Sri Berkat Rest House, Fraser’s Hill.

This 2nd edition of the CSR programme saw students participating in the two-day photography workshop instructed by photography professionals from PCP Publications.

This year’s theme ‘connecting art with nature’ taught the students how to capture photographs that reflect the stunning sights and scenes of flora and fauna around the enchanting rest house and forest trail in Fraser’s Hill.

The students, who were selected by the Local Council of Hulu Selangor, had shown interest in photography and wildlife which can easily be spotted in Fraser’s Hill.

Besides theory presentations on photography, the students were given practical lessons on techniques to capture nature photographs using DSLR and digital cameras, loaned by Nikon Malaysia.

The students also experienced personal photography coaching by professional photographers brought in by PCP Publications in a photo hunt session.

“This programme is an ideal platform for youngsters to experience Selangor’s attractions and rediscover the beauty of nature captured through the lens.

“Tourism Selangor always look forward to contributing to the community and we are also glad to be able to give the participants an opportunity to stay in our own historical tourism product, the Sri Berkat Rest House,” said Puan Noorul Ashikin Mohd Din, General Manager of Tourism Selangor.

“Previously known as ‘The Sleeping Hollow’, the district of Hulu Selangor is the ideal spot for those who would like to get close to nature. Whether indulging in the sport of bird watching, paragliding over gorgeous scenery, tubing with friends or having a quiet day away from the city, fun awaits at Hulu Selangor,” she added.
