Japanese Village Park Ipoh: “Mini Japan” Experience in the Heart of Ipoh City
Ipoh continues to evolve as a lifestyle and travel destination, and its latest addition brings a refreshing cultural twist. Located within the greenery of Taman D.R. Seenivasagam, Japanese Village Park (JVP) Ipoh offers a charming, Japanese-inspired setting right in the middle of town.
Since opening its doors on 1st March 2026, the park has quickly captured attention as a visually striking spot for both locals and visitors.
Developed by Fest Imperio Sdn Bhd, this project is part of a wider effort to breathe new life into Ipoh’s public spaces. Rather than creating just another park, the idea here is to introduce a themed environment that blends culture, leisure, and creativity.
It is worth noting that Japanese Village Park Ipoh is distinct from the nearby Taman Jepun. While they both share the same larger park grounds, each presents a different experience.
A Walk Through Japanese-Inspired Spaces
Japanese Village Park Ipoh brings together familiar elements of Japanese aesthetics, reinterpreted for a local audience. Visitors can enjoy a setting that feels curated yet accessible, where every corner is designed with intention.
One of the highlights is the Kimono House, where guests can try on traditional attire for photography and participate in memorable cultural activities.
Picture-Perfect Highlights
Among the key attractions at Japanese Village Park Ipoh, at this Phase 1 are:
.
These features come together to create an environment that feels immersive without being overwhelming. It is easy to spend time here simply wandering, pausing and taking in the details.
Designed for Leisure, Creativity and Connection
Japanese Village Park Ipoh is not just about aesthetics. It has been planned as a flexible space that suits different kinds of visitors.
Families can enjoy a relaxed outing, couples can take photos in scenic areas, and content creators will find plenty of visually appealing backdrops. The park strikes a balance between being leisurely and engaging, which gives it a wider appeal than many themed attractions.
Entry Prices and Visiting Hours
To mark its opening phase, the park is currently offering special introductory rates:
.
These promotional prices are expected to run for several months before standard ticket rates are implemented. Even then, the pricing remains relatively accessible, making it an easy stop for a casual visit.
Opening hours are from 9.30am to 6pm daily.
What visitors see today is only the beginning. Phase 1, completed after two years of planning and groundwork, represents the first chapter of a much broader vision. The remaining phases will be introduced in stages, with full development up to Phase 5 expected to be completed by 2029.
Backed by an estimated total investment of RM3.5 million, the project underscores a clear long-term commitment to building a distinctive and ever-evolving destination in Ipoh. The development is carried out under a 12-year agreement with the Ipoh City Council (MBI), providing a stable foundation for its continued growth and future enhancements.
Upcoming Events and Community Activities
Plans are already underway to introduce a range of events that will make the park more lively and interactive. These include:
Such programmes are expected to draw younger audiences and creative communities, turning the park into more than just a sightseeing spot.
With projections of 8,000 to 12,000 visitors per month during its initial phase, Japanese Village Park Ipoh is poised to make a noticeable impact on local tourism.
