Hotel Sea Lion (Sea Lion Hotel) is the largest hotel in Pulau Ketam (Crab Island), Selangor.
In fact, the hotel, which accommodates up to 300 guests is the first landmark you see as soon as you walk out from the main jetty of Pulau Ketam after disembarking from the ferry that has arrived from Port Klang.
Sea Lion is a modern “home motel” that offers guests basic amenities throughout the five room categories of 42 rooms in total. There’s hot shower, air-conditioning, satellite television and complimentary WiFi connection in public areas within the hotel. Other facilities that may interest you are fishing area, karaoke equipment, BBQ grill and steamboat pot.
Although Pulau Ketam itself is an idyllic fishing village without much to do, Hotel Sea Lion has various services to cater to the requirements of vacationers. Services include bicycle or scooter rental, as well as sea river cruise and speed boat charter from Port Klang.
On the other hand, travellers who do not wish to make their own plans can opt for a package tour provided by Hotel Sea Lion. There are four packages to choose from, with starting rate of RM50 per person, which comes with a delectable seafood lunch.
Here’s sharing with you some photos of my recent overnight stay in Pulau Ketam. If you have yet to set foot on the island, you really should do it soon, and enjoy the picturesque views.
How to get to Pulau Ketam
Getting to Pulau Ketam can’t be easier. The KTM Komuter stops at the Port Klang Train Station, just a short walk across Port Klang Jetty.
From there, three ferry services ply the route to Pulau Ketam main jetty, via modern, air-conditioned boats at an average of RM10 per trip. Enjoy a discount when you purchase return tickets. The ferry ride is approximately 40 minutes.
