Honor Chinese New Year 2016 Reunion Lou Sang Gathering
In “honour” of fans, Honor, a sub-brand of Huawei, hosted a Chinese New Year gathering in Ipoh’s Royal China Restaurant, after similar gatherings in Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru and Penang earlier this month.
The approximately fifty guests who turned up, not only from Ipoh but also from other parts of Perak, Penang, Selangor and Kuala Lumpur, were treated to a delicious nine-course Chinese dinner.
The dinner began with the customary “lou sang” (prosperity toss). As we dined, a slide presentation was displayed on the large screen, recapping the Honor phones and devices released in the past two years as well as sales records for various models during the same time frame.
To bring more life to the gathering, a karaoke contest was held. Long-time Honor supporter who came all the way from Kuala Lumpur, Wira Hidayat, started the ball rolling by rendering an old favourite, ‘When I Fall In Love’.
The winner of the karaoke contest was decided by popular vote. He won a gift hamper. There was also a lucky draw where three winners walked away with interesting prizes.
Before the gathering dispersed with a group photo, Jess Lee, Marketing Manager at Huawei Technologies (M) Sdn. Bhd. gave an assurance that more gatherings are on the cards, much to the delight of the attendees.
Here’s hoping that Ipoh will always be included in all Honor activities!

Two friends of mine work for Huawei, the China giant. And I heard that their CNY party was huge! Not bad for a gathering, looks like a lot of the people had fun!
