Memorable Chinese New Year Reunion Dinner to Welcome the Year of the Rat
Chinese New Year always begin with a reunion dinner on the eve of the Spring Festival. It’s in fact, one of the most important highlights on the lunar calendar.
No matter the distance, loved ones take the journey home to be with their family on this auspicious occasion, making this the largest annual exodus of people around the world. Whether the family is large or small, the meal starts off with a tossing of ‘lou sang’ (prosperity toss), followed by other dishes of fortune-bringing, prosperous-sounding names.
At Syeun Hotel Ipoh, this sense of togetherness was magnified multiple times with the signature family reunion event hosted on Chinese New Year Eve, where families in Ipoh gathered to ‘lou sang’ in unison, enjoy the scrumptious course dinner, entertained by talented performers on stage, and most importantly, visited by the God of Prosperity!
Similar to the past few years, my family and I opted to have our reunion dinner at Syeun Hotel Ipoh to enjoy its festive ambience, possibly not found anywhere else, as far as I know.
Appreciative of the time we got to spend together over a most memorable meal, and at the same time entertained by top-notch performers. Hopefully, you and your loved ones had a reunion dinner that was as inspiring as ours.
Here’s sharing some of the photos of last evening. Gong Xi Fa Cai to all who are reading this post. May the Year of the Metal Rat bring us much health, wealth and goodwill, as well as our homes be filled with happiness, laughter and warmth.
