Across the road from Lotus’s Bercham sits a kopitiam that locals have come to love: 鼎德茶铺 DD Kopitiam, or Dingde Tea Shop. The name “DD” means can withstand, and after a year of serving the community with unfussy yet flavourful food, the name feels perfectly apt.
As the eatery marks its first anniversary this November 2025, it stands as proof that good food and genuine warmth never go out of style.
A Familiar Corner Turned Local Favourite
Once the site of Amway’s Bercham outlet, the two adjoining shop lots now hum with the chatter of regulars, the clink of kopi cups, and the comforting aroma of freshly cooked meals. Open from 8.30am to 8pm daily, DD Kopitiam keeps things simple with an all-day menu that lets you pick, choose, mix, and match according to your cravings. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, or dinner, you’ll always find something that feels just right.
Honest Food, Heartfelt Taste
With main courses starting from the pocket-friendly price RM7.80, it’s easy to see why this place has built such a loyal crowd. The Hainan Chicken Chop with Rice and Curry Chicken Rice come highly recommended; classic dishes that capture the warmth of home-cooked comfort.

For sides, the Nam Yu Pork Belly was pure indulgence: crisp, aromatic, and savoury, while the Fried Dumplings offered that golden crunch everyone loves. To wrap up, the Kaya Sticky Rice delivered just the right amount of sweetness and ol’ skool nostalgia.

DD Kopitiam’s beverage menu offers a few creative surprises. There’s the comforting Kopi, the unique Kopi Grass Jelly, and the much-loved Hor Ka Sai with its heavenly mix of coffee and Milo.
