Hassle-Free Father’s Day Meal Delivered to Door
It’s Father’s Day this Sunday but due to circumstances, our family had an early celebration. It’s better to be early than not celebrate at all, so let’s not make any excuse to pass the occasion like an ordinary day, lockdown or not.
Today being a workday, I was scratching my head on how to prepare a feast in the midst of work. Then I had a lightbulb moment of just ordering the food! I have RM7 credit with a food delivery app. I was browsing through the eateries looking for options but mixing and matching was taking up too much time as well.
Which was why and how, I finally opted for the Father’s Day special menu offered by Travelodge Ipoh Hotel. Priced at just RM88, we can go for either the Western or Asian Set, with each set generously good for 3 – 4 pax.
It didn’t take long for my family to lock in on the Western Set, and it was then delivered to my house by 4pm, just nice for a dinner celebration.
Items on the Western Set menu are:
Honey Roasted Chicken (Half Bird)
Barbecued Lamb Skewer with Vegetables
Teriyaki Fish Fillet
Grilled Tomatoes
Buttered Rice
Meanwhile, should you opt for the Asian Set, you will be served with the following:
Thai Green Curry Chicken
Tom Yum Soup with Shrimp
Thai-style Steamed Seabass Fillet with Lime Sauce
Stir-fried Mixed Vegetables with Sambal Paste
Steamed White Rice
In addition to the above, each set comes with Fresh Garden Salad with topping, and Red Bean Soup plus Longan as dessert.
As you probably know, I frequently enjoy delicious meals at a hotel. Well, since we are no longer allowed to dine out, I am glad to say that we can still relish a taste of top cuisines in the comfort of home, adhering to tight Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
What tantalised my taste buds most was the distinctive flavours of each Western dish complementing one another, that went so well with Buttered Rice, too. While at first I was worried that the chicken wouldn’t be tender and the lamb would taste gamey, seriously, all my worries were unfounded.
From what I see, the only “problem” that you might face is deciding if you should go with the Western or Asian set! Priced at only RM88 per set, it worked out to be RM22 per person only, for my family of four. This is totally reasonable, based on the variety, quantity and especially taste.
