Setting the Gold Standard for Professional Trainers at HRD Corp Certified Train-the-Trainer Course

From 5th to 9th May 2025, aspiring and seasoned professionals gathered at Wyndham Acmar Klang in Selangor for a transformative five-day journey in the HRD Corp Train-the-Trainer (TTT) Certification Course.

Organised under the HRD Trainers’ Development Framework (HRD-TDF), the programme offered participants a gateway to becoming certified professional trainers, equipped not just with a certificate but with the skills, structure, and support to shape Malaysia’s workforce.

Why It Mattered?

This course was perfect for those looking to pivot into a training career, professionals keen to generate side income, and anyone seeking to improve their public speaking or presentation skills.

Beyond theory, it delivered real-world strategies through immersive learning activities, preparing each participant for real-life training scenarios.

Post-course coaching and continued resource support ensured that becoming certified wasn’t the end, but just the beginning.

Lead Trainer: Dr Arivalan Ramaiyah

The course was led by none other than Dr Arivalan Ramaiyah, a respected figure in the training landscape with over two decades of experience, spanning 500 organisations locally and internationally.

Over the years, he has trained more than 15,000 participants from diverse backgrounds, earning a reputation for his engaging, practical, and results-driven approach.

Known for his highly interactive and participant-focused teaching style, Dr Arivalan brought to the classroom not just academic insight but practical know-how rooted in psychology, Human Resources, and organisational behaviour.

His sessions were lively, and rich in activities such as role-plays, storytelling, debates, and even scenario planning – all crafted to maximise engagement and practical understanding.

His passion for lifelong learning and mental health advocacy made a lasting impression on every participant.

Why Become an HRD Corp Accredited Trainer?

Completing the TTT course qualifies individuals as HRD Corp Certified Trainers.

Trainers can also apply for exemption (if eligible) or pursue accreditation, a vital step for those aiming to conduct training under HRD Corp schemes.

An accredited trainer’s sessions are claimable by HRD Corp-registered employers, boosting employability and professional credibility.

More importantly, the accreditation reflects a trainer’s competence, commitment, and adherence to national standards.

What Comes After Certification?

All newly certified trainers are encouraged to go through an independent assessment or document 120 training hours within a set period to achieve full accreditation. HRD Corp has developed a comprehensive online portal for trainer registration, making it easy for trainers to manage their profiles, apply for exemption, and track their accreditation journey.

This robust system ensures that trainers remain current, competent, and competitive in a fast-evolving training landscape.

Although this edition of the Train-the-Trainer course in May has wrapped up, more sessions will be held in the near future.
