Exclusive Chinese New Year-Themed Winch Show at SkySymphony, RWG

Greeting holidaymakers at Resorts World Genting (RWG) this Lunar New Year will be the God of Prosperity, lion dance performances as well as SkySymphony’s exclusive Chinese New Year-themed winch show.

The brand new winch show was launched by Resorts World Genting on Saturday, featuring the theme ‘Chinese Zodiac’, at SkySymphony ‘Theatre of Lights and Sound’ at SkyAvenue Mall.

The winch show, from the world’s only fixed kinetic ball display – a permanent installation suspended from four-storey high ceiling, was a seamless synchronisation of 1,001 kinetic balls that move to form different shapes in concurrence with rhythmic music, to depict a story.

Setting the tone at the launch of the Chinese New Year Winch Show was lion dance performances, where eight prosperity lions shared the stage energetically prancing to the banging of drums and clashes of cymbals.

The highlight of the evening was, of course, the winch show. For about five minutes, the audio, visual and motion graphics showcase took the breath of vacationers, who stood transfixed to the show to ensure not to miss one second of it. Indeed, this was a presentation that would captivate anyone, whether he celebrates Chinese New Year or not.

Adding to the excitement was the appearance of not one, not two but SIX Gods of Prosperity! Distributing mandarin oranges to lucky holiday revellers, it was a symbol of blessings and prosperity for the year to come.

  5. It was such a festive party at Resort World Genting!! Too bad I am not free to attend the show, definitely a nice place for cny celebration!
