Enlightened Heart Tibetan Buddhist Temple

Tucked away in an obscure corner off the Tambun – Ampang Road, the Enlightened Heart Tibetan Buddhist Temple, also known as Enlightened Heart Buddhist Centre, of Nyingma lineage (Red Sect), is unfortunately, not attracting as many tourists as it has the potential to.
I have visited this temple many years ago, and when I visited again recently, I was glad to see the improvement in road conditions leading to the temple. It makes the temple accessible to more visitors and tourists.
However, despite these setbacks, the Enlightened Heart Tibetan Buddhist Temple attracts thousands of devotees and curious on-lookers twice yearly, during Wesak Day celebrations in May and Medicine Buddha Puja, which this year, is observed on Nov 3.
Established in the mid-1970s on 2.5 hectares of land surrounded by pomelo farms, this temple was slowly developed under the vision of its founder and abbot, the late Ge Li Rinpoche, known previously as Master Sergeant Yong, or simply, Yong Sifu.
Ge Li Rinpoche’s main teachings were: 1) do not forget the kindness of your teachers, 2) sincerely practise Buddha’s teachings, and 3) contribute sincerely to charity.
