Emily Meets Ronald McDonald

I bet that most of you haven’t met Ronald McDonald in the flesh before, even though you may have patronised a McDonald’s Restaurant for the umpteenth time. When I found out that he would be making an appearance at the 24/7 Drive-Thru Restaurant along Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah (between Petronas fuel station and MH Hotels), I did not pass up the chance. The occasion was the grand launching ceremony of the restaurant.
You may wonder why the grand launch when the restaurant has been in business for the past three to four years already. Well, they closed for about ten days in March for renovation and expanded it to a double-lane drive-through restaurant, only the second one in Malaysia, with larger seating capacity. The restaurant reopened for business on 1st April.
Some of the activities lined up that morning, besides a performance by Ronald McDonald, were colouring contest and games for children. To make the occasion even more meaningful, a cheque of RM2,000 was handed over to Yayasan Amanah An-Nur Maisarah from Ronald McDonald House of Charities Malaysia.
