The two-day craft and flea bazaar at De Garden over the long Hari Raya Aidilfitri holidays was a modest one, with only about thirteen vendors.
I understand that the bazaar was organised to complement the Hyundai car exhibition at De Garden from Aug 9 to 15.
The bazaar offered a mix of craft & flea and souvenir vendors, most of whom were regulars at Kinta Craft Trails. I, as usual, paid special attention to the craft vendors. One can hardly get two of the same items for handmade goods, so there’s always something new to check out.
I feel that Ipoh is in serious need of a permanent weekend bazaar similar to those flea bazaars in Kuala Lumpur. The Artisan Market at Bangsar Shopping Complex comes to mind.
As for now, those who would like to set up a temporary stall to sell handmade arts and crafts can contact Dolly Quah at 016-5516018. She is the owner of Shabby Rose Cottage.
