Clearwater Bay Resort Chinese New Year Open House Programme

Property developer, Sunrise Palace Sdn. Bhd., will hold a colourful Chinese New Year open house at Waterfront City in Bandar Lahat Mines on 15th Feb, 2013, the sixth day of the Chinese Lunar New Year. In addition to lion dance and a 24-season drums performance to usher in the New Year, a large scale calligraphy contest will also be held that day, with more than RM4,000 cash prizes to be won.

Year of the Snake Calligraphy Competition

There are three categories: Open, Secondary School, Primary School. There will be eight winners per category.

Open Category:
Gold medal: RM488 and certificate
Silver medal: RM388 and certificate
Bronze medal: RM288 and certificate
Five special prizes: RM50 each and certificate

Secondary School Category:
Gold medal: RM388 and certificate
Silver medal: RM288 and certificate
Bronze medal: RM188 and certificate
Five special prizes: RM50 each and certificate

Primary School Category:
Gold medal: RM288 and certificate
Silver medal: RM188 and certificate
Bronze medal: RM88 and certificate
Five special prizes: RM50 each and certificate

Additionally, the “Most Creative Calligraphy Award”, with a cash prize of RM888, will also be presented.

Registration for “Year of the Snake Calligraphy Competition” starts now until the morning of 15th Feb, 2013. Participants are expected at arrive at Waterfront City by 9.30am. Entry forms are available at:

Winners will be announced right after the competition ends, by a panel of judges which is made up of five prominent calligraphy masters. Prizes will be presented at around noon. Ipoh Mayor, Dato’ Hj. Roshidi Hashim has been invited as the guest-of-honour.

Once Upon a Time (皇宫灿烂)

This open house will be a fun-filled family day. Visitors will also get a chance to mingle with the main cast of Once Upon a Time (皇宫灿烂), the movie that was shot at this Waterfront City a few months ago. Lead actor, Jack Lim a.k.a. Ah Beng, will also be present. Besides signing autographs and photo opportunities, they will also be presenting a sketch. I am sure this is what many fans are looking forward to. It will definitely be an exclusive performance!

Even better news is that Sunrise Palace will be giving out, on first-come first-served basis, 600 free movie tickets to Once Upon A Time (皇宫灿烂) to be redeemed at TGV AEON Station 18 on 15th Feb, where fans will be, once again, greeted by the cast of Once Upon A Time (皇宫灿烂)!
