Aysha Zahra Bt Anuar: On the Road to the Queen’s Guide Award
In 2026, five candidates from Perak are in the final stages of qualifying for the Queen’s Guide Award, the highest recognition within the Girl Guides movement in Malaysia. One of them is Aysha Zahra Bt Anuar, a Form 5 student of SMK Perempuan Methodist (MGS) Ipoh.

Her candidacy represents more than participation. It reflects over six years of structured training, progressive assessments, leadership responsibilities, and sustained service within the Girl Guides framework.

Early Life and Education
Aysha Zahra was born in Ipoh during the month of Ramadan in 2009. She was a premature baby and spent her first six months in neonatal care. She has mild asthma and carries an inhaler as part of her daily health management.

Despite this condition, she has consistently participated in physically demanding and competitive co-curricular activities throughout primary and secondary school.
Her early education began at Tadika Little Caliph and Tadika Methodist. She attended SK Perempuan Methodist for primary school before continuing her secondary education at SMK Perempuan Methodist (MGS) Ipoh.
Structured Progression in Girl Guides
Aysha Zahra joined the Girl Guides in Standard 4 and continued formally from Form 1 onwards. The Queen’s Guide Award, known locally as Anugerah Pandu Puteri Raja, is the highest distinction within the organisation and requires years of cumulative development.
The award is not granted based on a single achievement. Candidates must complete skill modules, take on leadership roles, attend camps, pass badge assessments, and carry out a self-funded community service project.
Only those who fulfil every requirement are nominated at the state level. Aysha is one of five candidates representing Perak this year.
Co-Curricular and Performance Record
Alongside Guiding, Aysha Zahra has maintained active involvement in the performing arts and school-level competitions.
She began with theatre training under Jabatan Kesenian dan Kebudayaan Negara (JKKN) Perak before transitioning into dance. She progressed to performing at recognised venues, including Istana Budaya, and was selected into JKKN’s Kelas Bimbingan Seni Cemerlang, a programme designed to refine young talents identified as having strong potential.
Aysha Zahra’s participation includes district, state, and national-level competitions and programmes such as:
.
In December 2025, she was selected as one of eight students for the Ipoh–Fukuoka Youth Exchange Programme. During her three weeks in Fukuoka, Japan, she attended classes, experienced both public and private schooling systems, and stayed with a host family. This exchange strengthened her cross-cultural understanding that broadened her international exposure.

Community Service Initiative: Semaian Kasih
A compulsory requirement for the Queen’s Guide qualification is a three-month community service project funded entirely through the candidate’s own effort. External sponsorship or direct donations are not permitted. Funds must be generated through work or sales.
Aysha Zahra’s project, titled Semaian Kasih, concluded on 20 February 2026 at Maahad Darus Salam, Tambun, Ipoh.

To raise funds, Aysha Zahra:
.
Her fundraising period was briefly interrupted when she participated in the Fukuoka exchange programme. After returning home, she resumed her efforts.
At the end of three months, she successfully raised RM1,200. The entire amount was used to purchase school supplies, daily necessities, and food items for students at Maahad Darus Salam. This contribution was provided in the form of goods, not cash.

Official Handover Ceremony
The formal handover ceremony was held on Friday, 20th February 2026.
Distinguished attendees included:
.
The important ceremony marked the official completion of Aysha Zahra’s community service requirement.

Final Assessment Camp
Aysha Zahra’s final requirement before the award decision is a three-day assessment camp known as Bengkel Selalu Sedia. During this camp, candidates are reassessed on the full scope of knowledge and competencies acquired from Form 1 to Form 5. This includes practical skills, leadership capability, teamwork, Guiding principles, and overall preparedness.
Successful completion of this camp determines eligibility for the Queen’s Guide Award, which will be presented by DYMM Raja Permaisuri Agong Malaysia Raja Zarith Sofiah, in Juru, Penang, in May.

Future Aspirations
When her co-curricular commitments conclude, Aysha will focus on preparation for her SPM examinations at the end of the year. She has expressed an interest in pursuing a career in international diplomacy, influenced by her participation in cross-cultural exchange programmes.
Her progression reflects sustained commitment over several years. From early resilience and consistent participation to independent fundraising and leadership development, each stage has built upon the previous one.
The Queen’s Guide pathway is intentionally rigorous. Completion signifies discipline, reliability, and long-term dedication. Aysha Zahra Bt Anuar is now at the final stage of that journey, and we wish her every success in her endeavours.
