Amaze International Model Search 2011 (Ipoh)

Went to De Garden to catch the Amaze International Model Search 2011 recruitment drive, hoping for an opportunity to shoot beautiful catwalk models. Unfortunately, this is just a walk-in recruitment where contestants are measured for their height and weight and interviewed.

According to Tina Fong, spokesperson for Amaze Communications and Modeling, the organiser of Amaze International Model Search, they are not only looking for someone with looks, but also someone with public speaking skills and talent. Generally, they want an all-rounder. Sounds challenging but she seems confident that they will be able to unearth a pair of new faces (a male and a female model) in their first ever model search.

Besides speaking with Tina and one of their official sponsors, MadSimn, a company that deals in natural weight loss and detoxification, I had the opportunity to chat with two contestants, Eva and Kia.

Eva is 26 years old; a part time model from Ipoh. This is her third attempt at a model search contest. She has previously won subsidiary titles. She is 168cm tall.

Kia is a 22-year-old computer engineering student and freelance model. She drove all the way from Penang to participate in her first model search contest. She is 172cm tall.

I can’t pinpoint who has a better chance of winning but I think aspiring models need to participate in as many contests like this as possible to gain experience and confidence. Good luck to Eva, Kia and all the other aspirants!
