Adventure Racing (AR) Asia Series Returns with 100+ Participants in Rompin, Pahang

After the successful organisation of the Adventure Racing World Series Demo Race back in 2019 from Kuala Lumpur to Kuantan, it is time for the race to return to the competitive world after almost 2.5 years of COVID-19 pandemic.

Playing host this time on 20th August is Taman Negeri Rompin (Rompin State Park). Located in the district of Rompin in Pahang, Malaysia, this state park covers an area of 31,797 hectares and is blessed with interesting features of flora and fauna, geology and history.

There are three categories of races:
Under 10km Trail Running
Under 80km Team of Two
Under 80km Team of Four

Team races are multi-disciplined events that cover Trail Running, Navigation, Mountain Biking, Tubing, and Waterfall Abseiling.

Registration & gear checking for participants will be on 19th August with a flag-off early next day on the 20th. Many familiar faces are expected on the starting list. Veteran or rookie adventurers alike can anticipate an ultra-promising race, helmed by Race Director James Chee and Technical Advisor for the course, Geoff Kronerberg. The organisers have lined up attractive cash prizes and goodies for winners of the race.

With more than a hundred participants, an equal number of volunteers will be mobilised, including doctors, paramedics, and seasoned offroaders to cover the grounds, alongside Governmental agencies from RELA, BOMBA, Emergency Services and Park Rangers, to ensure a safe and unforgettable experience for all during the AR Rompin 2022. Partners for this race include Rainforest Lodge (official accommodation provider), limited edition watches by Citizen and health screening by ALTY Orthopaedic Hospital.
