Running from 21st February to 15th March 2026, this limited-time dinner is less about spectacle and more about substance. It does not overwhelm you with dozens upon dozens of dishes. Instead, it delivers a focused, well-executed spread that understands its identity.

Quality Over Quantity
In a city where hotel buffets can sometimes feel like culinary marathons, AC Hotel Ipoh takes a different approach. The selection is modest compared to some other star-rated properties, but that restraint works in its favour.




The kitchen concentrates on flavour, proper cooking techniques, and consistent standards. Gravies are rich without being cloying. Meats are tender rather than overworked. Seafood is fresh and properly seasoned.
The coffee house sits 220 guests comfortably and can stretch up to 350 when necessary, making it suitable from close family dinners to large corporate bookings. Even at higher capacity, the layout allows guests to move about with ease.



The Chef Behind the Celebration
At the centre of this operation is Head Chef Razlee Bin Sutarchio, originally from Kudat, Sabah. With 18 years of culinary experience, including time spent in five-star establishments across Vietnam, Korea, and Malaysia, he brings both global exposure and local sensibility to the table.




For this festive season, he leads a 15-member culinary team, ensuring smooth service throughout the evening. What stands out is the discipline in execution.
To keep things interesting, the buffet operates on two rotating menus, particularly across its nine main courses. This means diners who return on different evenings can expect variation rather than repetition.
It is a thoughtful touch, especially during Ramadan, when families may gather several times over the course of the month.



A Meeting of Malay and Chinese Flavours
The theme of the buffet celebrates in both Malay and Chinese cuisine: a fitting tribute to the overlapping festive period.
Among the standouts:
The rendang carries deep, layered spices that linger pleasantly. Ayam kurma presents a creamy, aromatic comfort that pairs deliciously with rice.
The fish curry using tenggiri (mackerel) has a bold, assertive gravy – reputedly even approved by the Raja Dihilir – and it certainly delivers on flavour.

Seafood lovers can look forward to stingray, prawns and squid prepared with care, while the chilli or black pepper crab brings a celebratory punch to the menu line-up.


Highlights
One of the most anticipated features is the whole grilled lamb, available every evening. Carved fresh, it offers smoky edges and succulent slices that rarely disappoint.


The satay, served with housemade kuah kacang, deserves attention. The peanut sauce has depth and texture, clearly prepared in-house rather than poured from a commercial jar.

At the noodle station, available are either Kai See Hor Fun or Curry Noodles, made to order. It is the sort of warm, satisfying bowl that completes the meal, especially when breaking fast.
