Century Ride 2012
This year’s Century Ride, the sixth edition, themed ‘Going Long…. A Journey of Discovery’, attracted almost 1800 cyclists not only from Malaysia but also neighbouring countries like Singapore, Philippines and Australia; even as far as Great Britain and United States of America.
Just like the previous Rides, this one wasn’t a race per se, but a challenge for the cyclists to complete the entire 160km route, taking them through Silibin Road, the Ipoh – Lumut Highway, Jalan Siputeh, Parit, Senggang, Karai, Lintang, Lasah, Ulu Kuang, Chemor and Kuala Kangsar Road.
While last year’s Century Ride was flagged-off at Dataran Ipoh, this year, it was at Kinta Riverfront Hotel and Suites. I was unable to make it to the flag-off this time around as I had to be somewhere else. Still, I am happy to share some photos with you which were taken as cyclists completed the race.
It was definitely a race to remember for those who took up the challenge and I am sure, despite the tough route, they still enjoyed the scenes. Perak, yours to discover!

Great event, very well organised and Ipoh was a great place to stay. Very friendly and the food was excellent. Will definitely come back.
