9th Asia Cup Men’s Hockey Tournament 2013: Japan vs. Malaysia
Malaysia started the match listlessly and allowed Japan two goals before clamouring to a win with four goals to two.
It was a dangerous situation for Malaysia, but now that they are in the semi-finals, and will meet India next, thus it will be a serious test for the team.
India is trying to get a spot in the World Cup next year, on merit, and Malaysia is still waiting for confirmation, so it will definitely be the match to catch.
During the post-match press conference, coach for Malaysia, Paul Revington, was all smiles. He said, “The boys stayed calm and played according to instructions, after a briefing before the start of the second half.”
Hockey is a very swift team sport and if the team as a whole performed well, it could be a very close game and the results would go either way.
