Although the 53rd MABA / Agromate Agong Cup National Basketball Championship 2011 kicked-off at 8am, the opening ceremony was only held at 8.30pm that night. The guest of honour was Perak Menteri Besar, Y.A.B. Dato’ Seri DiRaja Dr. Zambry bin Abd. Kadir, who, on behalf of the Perak State Government, sponsored RM100,000 to the tournament.
Besides the raising of flags and reading of oath, the highlight of the opening ceremony was the cheerleaders from SMJK Ave Maria Convent, who performed their routine to an appreciative crowd. The AMC girls are two-time national champions in cheer leading. Check out my video below.
