22nd SAS Cup 2013: Day 2: Match 2: Korea (2) – India (1)
The match between Korea and India was, unfortunately, lacklustre. If Korea had failed to convert numerous penalty corners in the first half of the match, it was the same situation with India in the second half.
The golden moment of the game was when Korea’s Kang Moon Kweon hit the ball from outside the D and deflected into the goal. That bagged him ‘Man of the Match’ award.
Coach for India, Michael Nobbs, said his young players needed more time on the field and although they have lost both games in the two that they have played thus far in this tournament, their game has improved.
Indian team manager Roland Oltmans said his players need to learn from mistakes committed, and improve from here. He won’t be looking at results on a per game basis, but at the long term instead. Their learning process and growth have just begun.
India will meet long-time nemesis, Pakistan, in their next game tomorrow. There will be a lot of fire in the belly on both sides.
Final score was Korea 2, India 1. View (and buy) high quality photos of this match at Sports Media Group Australia.
