2015 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup – Match 3 – New Zealand (4) – Malaysia (2)
It was a close call for New Zealand and by the end of the match, relief was written all over their faces. Luck was not on Malaysia’s side when two attempts to score saw the ball hitting the bar instead.
The game witnessed Azlan Misron become the highest capped Malaysian player in history, appearing at his 337th match for the country.
New Zealand coach Colin Batch pointed out how swift the game could be and was happy that his boys were able to overcome a dangerous situation and take home full three points from the game.
Last year, Malaysia were the runners-up and this year, they have been tasked to perform similarly well. Sitting at the bottom of the table now, it will not be easy for Malaysia!
