No. 6. Munshi Abdullah’s House
Born Abdullah bin Abdul Kadir (1796 – 1854), Munshi Abdullah is known as “The Father of Modern Malay Literature”. “Munshi” is an Arabic word for “Teacher of Language”. This house in Kampung Ketek is just a short walk from Cheng Hoon Teng temple. This village was first known as Kampung Pali, and subsequently renamed Kampung Masjid. It only has seven residential houses.
