The Haven Ipoh Accorded Minister’s Award at 20th Malaysia Tourism Awards
The Haven Resort Hotel Ipoh All Suites has once again put Ipoh City on the map when it was accorded the Minister’s Award for Organisation at the 20th Malaysia Tourism Awards 2016/2017 hosted at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre on 28th Feb, 2018.
The Haven Resort Hotel Ipoh All Suites was represented by Mr. Peter Chan, The Haven’s Chief Executive Officer, who himself bagged The BrandLaureate SMEs Man of the Year Award 2017-2018 recently.
During the glitzy gala dinner-cum-awards presentation ceremony, Tourism and Culture Minister Dato’ Seri Mohamed Nazri bin Abdul Aziz said that the awards served to acknowledge captains of the tourism industry and media partners for their outstanding contribution and effort in promoting tourism in the country in 2016 and 2017.
In efforts to improve tourism offerings, two new categories of awards were introduced: Best Entertainment Spot and Best Airline, in this edition. This was to acknowledge the private sector for their assistance in fulfilling the goals of Tourism Key Economic Areas (NKEAs) and the Malaysia Tourism Transformation Plan (MTTP).
It was indeed a proud moment for Ipohites to realise that a property in Ipoh has been duly recognised on the national stage at the biennial Malaysia Tourism Awards, alongside awardees known for their highest level of professionalism and quality in products and services.
The significance of this federal government’s endorsement affirms Mr. Peter Chan’s role and vision in boosting the tourism sector of Ipoh to become a major tourism destination known around the world, through its award-winning resort hotel that pioneers the concept of luxury family vacation.
To date, it has attracted guests from 45 nations, and counting. This milestone confirms The Haven’s desirability as a budget-friendly luxury vacation destination – one that boasts 5-star international standards when it comes to its accommodation, food and services.
