Swiss-Garden Beach Resort Damai Laut Food & Fun Hunt 2017
Some sixty media representatives, including bloggers and social media influencers, pitted their hunting skills to try to emerge champions in the inaugural 2-day food & fun hunt hosted by Swiss-Garden Beach Resort Damai Laut.
The hunt, which was jointly organised by veteran hunt planner Time Out Solutions, combined a host of activities and challenges.
The objective was to provide participants with an opportunity to explore local cuisines unique to the state of Perak, as well as to rediscover the many tourist attractions in the state, in conjunction with Visit Perak Year 2017.
Flagging off from Swiss-Garden Hotel & Residences Kuala Lumpur by Mr. Patrick Tee, General Manager of Swiss-Garden Beach Resort Damai Laut, the first stop of the hunt was Bidor’s Mee Kari Ramli.
From there, the hunt took participants to Teluk Intan, Sitiawan, Manjung and Lumut, before Day 1 wrapped up. Our room at Swiss-Garden Beach Resort Damai Laut never felt that comfortable, after a hard day of hunting.
Day 2 seemed easier for my team mates and I (Team 06) although the journey felt longer. From the Swiss-Garden Golf Club, we then went to Segari Turtle Sanctuary, Pantai Remis, Beruas Museum, Batu Gajah, Tanjung Tualang and Ayer Tawar, before returning to Lumut.
Indeed, we covered one too many towns. Nonetheless, we completed the challenges on time. In fact, we had plenty of time to spare, being the first team to check in at the Finish Station. Perhaps, we had gotten the hang of the mechanics already by then.
I felt that my team members, Philemon and his wife Ann, and myself formed a really solid team, and it proved to be true when Team Super Sixers were announced as the champions of the hunt. In addition, we won Most Creative Photo Caption, while Philemon was declared Best Dressed (Male).
Besides prizes for the top five teams, five winners in the social media category were declared as well: Best Selfie, Best Wefie, Most Creative Pose, Photo with Most Likes and Most Creative Photo Caption, which my team won.
What a memorable weekend it turned out to be, which included a turtle release programme, courtesy of Segari Turtle Sanctuary and the Ministry of Fisheries Perak.
This is one hunt that would stay long in my memory. My personal treasure hunt record currently stands at two outings for two wins. Yay!

Wow, such a good event. Is not easy to complete the food hunt as you need to have empty stomach and ready to eat a big portion. I try it before.
