Swara Symphony
Swara Symphony was a captivating musical event that showcased the fusion of Indian classical and contemporary music.

The performance was jointly organised by the Greentown Indian Cultural Society, Jabatan Kebudayaan & Kesenian Negara Perak, including Majlis Kebudayaan Negeri.

The first part of the event featured Sitar Maestro Biswajit Sarkar, a prominent exponent of the Seniya Maihar Gharana. Biswajit was trained under renowned gurus like the late Pandit Indranil Bhattacharya, alongside Padmabhushan Debabrata Chowdhury, and has also received guidance from Padmashree Pt. Rajeev Taranath.

His aristocratic performance is marked by a perfect delineation of raga, a strong sense of sur (note), taal (rhythm), and laya (tempo), setting him apart from his contemporaries. The maestro was accompanied by Professor Adway Pawar on the tabla.

The second part of the event showcased “Anhad Naad,” a fusion musical presentation. Anhad Naad, meaning “limitless” or “boundless,” aims to create compositions which encompass numerous genres and varieties.

The ensemble, comprising Sahil Deshpande on the keyboard, Prafulla Pawar on percussions, Samruddha Kute on flute, Pratik Pandit on sitar, and Professor Adway Pawar on tabla, presented an inimitable blend of classical plus contemporary music.

Performing in Malaysia for the first time, their goal is to bring deep-rooted classical music to the mainstream while creating fresh and unique melodies that are familiar and popular with the audience.
